The second edition of BBVA Open Talent took place in the final months of 2009 and the first months of 2010.

In this edition, the scope of the competition was expanded considerably, since the goal was to encompass projects all over the world and increase the number of supporting initiatives. In this edition there were 329 applications, and a total of 125,000 votes among all the projects.
